ALPHA PHI
James Madison University.
Hi everyone and welcome to the Theta Iota chapter of Alpha Phi at James Madison University. My name is McKenna Wertz, and I currently have the privilege of holding the position of Chapter President. It has been such an honor serving the amazing women of Theta Iota and representing them as a leader!
This chapter upholds Alpha Phi’s four high ideals of membership which are sisterhood, innovation, generosity, and character. We are constantly providing efforts to be there for one another and lend a helping hand when one is needed. This past year we have been able to rely on each other for both mental and emotional support. No one teaches you how to live your life during a pandemic or how to deal with the hurdles it throws at you, but with your sisters surrounding you there is nothing you can’t handle together.
The Theta Iota women have taught me how to not only better the chapter as a whole, but also myself as an individual. Right from the start I was welcomed with open arms and felt like I could truly be myself around these women. When times were tough, they were always right there to comfort me in any way they could. Being a member of Theta Iota has taught me to be gracious towards others and be grateful for those I have in my life.
There is not a day that goes by where I don’t think about my fellow sisters. I know we will still be friends after college and hold true the meaning of sisterhood. I encourage you to find a place where you feel you belong and surround yourself with people you know will be there when life gets messy. The Theta Iota sisters of Alpha Phi have made a lasting impact on me and I hope to make a lasting impact on them by being their Chapter President.
With love and kindness! AOE
